Is thjere a way to assign a static session id to a TS client?
I am haveing major printing issues. I have set up the printers locally and then on the server. I share out the printer from the server, then I can use on other TS clients. when i log off then back in again I get a different session ID and then I have to go thru the whole process over again. is ther a simpler way? I have 35 thin clients and about 20 different printers at 4 locations. its a real pain in the lower region.

i think you're referring to a windows 2003 session directory service and the use of NLB, but it's not practical if you have only 1 TS server, it's meant for a farm

the nlb would redirect the user to their previous session on the same server they were logged into before upon reconnection

ms doesn't use static ports, but i think citrix does...maybe use a mandatory profile or something?

oh my god I wish there was someone with an answer to this! I'm also facing the same problem. My LPT1 port that was assigned to the printer runs away every time i log off and becomes PRN1!
