my problem is that i am having very frequent system restarts, the restart doesnt depend on the application i run ,ie even if i browse, play games(i have ut 2k4), see a movie or anything it restarts. i did a through virus check with fully updated norton and avast, the result was negative, i removed my graphic card and worked still there is problem, i tried different combination of ram modules, still the problem persists,i even formatted my drives and installed xp again still..

i am getting the windows error mesage some times and dump files are created. funny thing is that the system some times even restrt during booting time (actualluy during windows loading screen or the user chooing scrren) also some times system just hangs and stays like only once i got the BSOD saying that DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is having some prob.

twice or thrice system got hanged at cmos screen and after restarts i have to press many times my power button for my system to boot, eventhough the fan gets running .

i am attaching some of my minidump files

Three-hundred watts is a little on the low side, but considering your hardware, it should be sufficient. Though if it's one of those cheap power supplies, it's quite possible it's just not providing the power you need.

Another thing to check would be your RAM. Run memtest and make sure it's good.

According to ur hardware PSU is sufficient if it’s a quality brand, do u have any extra fans connected to ur comp ?

Reply to lolitha

i dont hae extra fans connected other than the default one, more over i have checked the temeperature its its on lowerside, and how can i check if y ram modules are fine >> i mean using a software , please tell me which software to use

Memtest86 is the most common one  GL
