I'm upgrading my Motherboard, and i was told that it would be best to sort of "patch" windows after i install the HDD with Windows XP on it into the new Motherboard for fear of BIOS problems.
Now, i have SP2 on my current Windows XP, but my Windows XP CD wich i bought a long time ago is SP1, so can i install things from there or will i have to get a new CD or what?
Not exactly sure what your asking. If your asking if you can install your current version once the new mobo is installed, the answer would be yes but you'd likely have to get it activated, which you can likely do if you can come up with a good story when talking with Microsoft. Once installed you would have to do all the Microsft updates including SP2, which will definitely take some time even on broadband.
