So i built my comp. now it wont let me install my audio drivers. something about missing hda cannot find. also my dvd drive mysteriously won't load properly now and my 250 gb hd is only saying it's a 127 gb. can someone please help me
inew to computers and dont know really what to do. WOW, you say you built your own computer? thats awesome, and way over my head. If you made your computer forom other computers parts [I doubt this is the problem but...] what if the DVD drive you used wasn't working properly? If not, trying to get it to work might have used up a little gb (im relly not sure if thats possible) If its not too much work, maybe you can take it out and look at it. if theres anything impropper or out of place, try to fix that and put it back in. I hope it works!!!

You need to install SP1 or SP2 for windows xp. This will clear up the 127/137 gig problem. Once the service pack is installed you can partition and format the rest of the drive as you wish.
Have you installed the chipset drives for the motherboard yet? This may also clear up the dvd problem. If not unplugged the cables to the dvd drive and reseat them.
Are the audio drives for the on-board audio or for an add on soundcard?
