Looking for the best VGA that hogs the least amount of power, show me a link,or tell me from personal experience. Was looking at the 7800gtx and 7950gt(thought about going 7600gtoc but would like to take advantage of 24 pipelines),I understand ATI's are real power mongers.Tell me what you've had luck with or what wasted your psu.Tryin to make this the best gamer possible.Tell me what you think :D ,any feedback would be appreciated.

HTPC, gamer and PSU restrictions don't go hand in hand.

The best balance for an HTPC is the GF7600GT, low power and heat footprint, and still powerful enough for light gaming, and all the features available from PureVideoHD.

The next option for a little more gaing power would be the GF7900GS.

But really you're at cross purposes with that expectation. Likely your best bet will be to wait a little more for the X2600 and GF8600 cards to come out which are only a little more power hungry than the GF7600GT but perform close to the GF7900GS.

FORGET the GF7800GTX !!
It's a power glutton too on it's 110nm chip it's about the same as the X1900 cards, the GF7900/7950GT would require less power being on 90nm and with fewer transistors, but still the GS is better for power concerns.

it is a newer gpu and it isnt out yet.
it should be better than the 76 series.

if you can wait then do that and read up on the 86 series or the new ati/amd cards.

the ati/amd cards are suppose to be released all at once.
meaning from top to bottom.
