Well.... I thought I had everything just about right as far as my antenna
goes. But comes winter and skip rears it's ugly head. I now have
co-channel interference on some channels that is causing dropouts and
occasionally total signal loss.

Some thought is going to have to be put into Transmitter antenna design
(radiation pattern), power levels and frequency allocation by the FCC to
eliminate these problems.

Is this inteference from transmissions on the same channel or adjacent
channels?

Same channel interference

A couple of questions...
Is your antenna directional?
Is the antenna amplified?

And, what channels are affected?

You left out a question, when does it act up?
1) it acts up early morning, before sun-up. No daytime problems yet.
2) Yes, the antennas are VERY directional, there are three directions
(antennas) and traps installed for each line to remove the channel from the
other antenna. I've gone thru checking to see if I'm getting signal from
the other antenna causing the problem. I do that by removing the other
antenna line from the combiner and measuring the signal strength. All
are -30db down from the non receiving antenna and average -10db to +20db on
the receiving antenna.
3) yes the antennas are amplified

channels received are as follows: actual channel (maps to) 54 (3), 7 (8), 24
(10), 12 (13), 15 (20), 41 (26), 29 (28), 19 (32), 57 35 (36), 57 (38), 52
(40), 59 (44), 42 (66)

Channels with problems: 57 (38), 59 (44), 24 (10)
