safemode? F8?

To load your computer in to safe mode i thought you had to press F8 before XP starts loading....? I try that on my new build and all I get is a window asking me which drive to boot from, there's none of the usual safe mode options. Is there some other way to boot in to safe mode? Using msconfig is out as I have a nasty virus preventing me from using it.

yep you got to press F8 before xp starts, choose your hard drive , I think you may have a bootable Cd in your Cd Rom drive.

The choosing which drive to boot from maybe your BIOS. So wait until after your BIOS is through before pressing F8.
