As title states, my 9550 fan seized up on me and melted off! I haven't taken the step to PCIe yet so I'm looking for a bargain AGP card until I do build my next system. Looking on newegg I've found a few and would like some advice on what you all recommend. I'm a long time reader of the forumz but this is my 1st post.

There were some more 9550's but they cost more than I paid for my 256meg 2 yrs ago.

last night there was an x800 on there with an open box, but its not showing up anymore. Any suggestions for the best card for the least amount? $100 is my ceiling but I'd like to stay as far under that as I can. The only gaming I do right now is Guild Wars and HW2.

Oh, I found that x800 I found earlier, this one does not say open box, the thing that caught my eye was it is 256 bit. Is it any good?

I'd like to spring for the x1650 Pro, but I really don't want to spend quite that much right now as I'd like to upgrade to either C2D or Kuma around X-mas so this 'puter doesn't have much of a life left. Socket 754 3000+ w/ 1 GB PC-3200 and 2 Raptors in Raid 0.

get that x800, i think its a great deal and i think you can bios mod it to a x800xt pe if ti is the right one...

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, in the review section there's this comment:
Unlocked and Overclocked

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Not one
Other Thoughts: I got the open box of this exact card. It was the R430 core so a bios flash was in order. It unlocked to 16 pipes without an issue, then I was still able to get an overclock (no errors in ati tool for 15 minutes) of 550mhz on the core and 1100mhz DDR memory.

Does the card still work? I'm asking as a week ago I saw a 6600GT with melted fan, the owner said it was still able to run Battlefield, but not on high resolusion:) Changed the cooler, works fine:)

yes its still working for now, but not at long periods, I can't let it get hot or it freezes up. I thought of just buying a cooler, but if I'm spending money on old technology, why not upgrade at the same time?
