Are the server editions of windows really better than the normal stuff. Will they let me have more external connections and stuff like that.

Is datacenter good, never hear much about it.

Which windows is the biggest baddest version for someone with multiple programs uploading to hundreds of connections at a time.

The server os'es are better because they tend to be more stable and has less un-needed stuff on them. 2003 Server can be tweaked heavily to use very little RAM.

I wasn't aware that Enterprise has better mem management than Standard. My server PC has R2 Ent, but my windows server (at a DC) just has R2 Standard.

It's not exactly 'management' if you do take advantage of it with >4GB (total addressable), but it's there and it's an edge over Std.



Yes, I'm aware of that, but I dont call them better memory management.

Yes... we had a nice little "discussion" about PAE and x64 in the CPU forum. Bascially, the OP wanted MS to fully implement PAE in all 32-bit Windows versions rather than switch to true 64-bit addressing. Needless to say, he was heckled endlessly.
