Hi folks. I have a e6600 c2d and a evga 6801 mobo with 2 gigs of 667 nanya ram @ 5 - 5- 5 - 15. It's kind of a weird question but I thought I would pick yoiur brains. On their website it says power is 1.8 vdd. Is vdd the voltage number that I put in in my bios under ram voltage? The issue stems from when I restart occaisionally my PC boots into safe mode With my ram @ 667 and my fsb (1067) at the default setting but when it boots normally it shows my fsb at 1425 mhz and for some reason my ram it says is at 665 mhz? WTF? anyhow I am a noob when it comes to OCing ram and was hoping you Peeps could help Bye the way I overclocked my CPU to 3.2 gigs with it in unsynced.

I would suggest you run it synched. The motherboard will relax the settings on memory making it a LOT more stable.

For some reason... my 533MHz memory would crash my system if i had it unsynched and overclocked it just a tad. But with it synched I have successfully clocked it past 800MHz (mobo makes nasty adjustments to timings w/o any noticeable difference in performance).

So,

I suggest.. Let things in auto and synch it with 1.9v or so.

Good advice highchris thanks man my fsb was as it should be and now my ram is up to 713hz. Time to retry 3d mark06! I'll gain at least 11 points. WooO! B y the way should I bump my voltage up .1 more and try to push 800 hz? thx again.
