Like the subject says, I have an XFX 7900 GT (With that top bezel removed) and I was wondering if I could get a better fan for it. Specifically, I want to silence it and keep same temps. But If I can get lower temps, that'd be great. I did some searching before and found that there were problems with the 7900 GT in terms of being capable of replacing the HSF setup or not, that's what initially made me shy away.
Looked back again after I realized where quite a bit of the noise coming from my system was from the video card. So anyone know of any good solutions for this? Any help would be much appreciated!
Just get that and some Ram Sink's and you will be good to go. It has better performance than the Zalman. Plus you can run it either with or without a fan. I myself would pop on a quiet 92MM fan and oc the lving heck out of it.
Ckeck out this link:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=174503 It shows how to shorten the NVsilencer5(rev3) to make it fit on
the 7900gt. The value of this cooler is that it expells all the hot air out the back, instead of recirculating it in the case. I have used this cooler before(unmodified), and it reduced the vga, cpu, and case temperatures noticeably.
