i'm away from home, and at a severe lack of technology.
I've got a digital camera, and i've filled my memory card on the first day of an 18 day trip. i need to download it. At home, i just plug it into Windows Xp and use the microsoft documents thingy, and it downloads them instantly. here, i only have windows 2000, and naturally it doesn't.
My camera is a cannon, but the cannon software for windows 2000 sucks, badly. I need to get these images out of the camera.
My camera stores the files on the camera as .jpg and .avi already, all i really need is a program that will allow me to access the memory card directly (like a removable drive, like XP)
So far as I know, then, the Canon software would be your only option... as I'm not sure anything else will communicate with the camera. I didn't care for pulling the pictures directly from the camera as it was extremely slow compared to using a card reader. The only way I could get it to work was to use the driver from Canon's website.
