I have xp pro. The pc isn't that new but i have a lot of older 20gb hds lying around. All of htem are ide. Is there any way i can format the computer and set up a software raid solution or JBOD to add up 3 20gb hds for a single 60 gb drive? If so, what programs do i need? Can this be done in windows itself? Any answer would be very apreciated. Thank you.

You could do it with RAID or JBOD. Keep in mind that if you use RAID 0, all the disk drives should be the same size. You can do the JBOD directly within Windows, it's called a spanned volume.

Here are some instructions on how to go about creating one.
