encryption helps?

If I enable encryption on my wireless router (which connects me to my wireless internet router(service provider)) will it help download speeds ?
Its a MAX of 54mb (so G)
I like to walk around the house with my wireless laptop.

I'm using a WRT54G

If I hook another router up (a wrK54g) between the WRT54G and my laptop... will that increase my security? Any benefit?

The easy answer is no it will not make anything faster. It will however block unwanted people that may be trying to connect to the internet via your wifi.

Yes it will by adding another NAT layer to your network... however that being said if your routers have the generic admin UN and PW setup it is pointless. All in all this would just be a waste of time and money for you not to mention the issues that may arise with 2 routers running wifi.
