SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- April 9, 2007 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced it expects to report revenue of approximately $1.225 billion in the quarter ending March 31, 2007. Revenues declined sharply quarter-over-quarter for the Computing Solutions segment, primarily due to lower overall average selling prices and significantly lower unit sales, especially in the resale channel.

That means that Intel is gaining back market share from AMD.

I noticed that part of the story also, but it doesn't give a reference. DOes it mean lower than last quarter, this time last year. It also mentions a resale channel which I've never heard of. I assume it means Newegg, etc.
I would think that it would be attributed to more by the 10% lower margins than a significant loss in share.

It could be possible that they haven't grown as much as the market because of the previous channel issues. We'll see when Mercury reports in the next month or so.

It was not a profit warning it was a revenue warning and they issued a very similar warning at the beginning of March.

The profit announcement will come out April 19th and it isn't going to be a very nice. I haven't heard estimates on losses but they have to be almost double what Q4 06' was with that kind of revenue hit and the declining ASP.

It actually surprises me they're not gaining ground on Intel still in the lower-end due to their price cuts. If anything I'd say it looks like AMD should be moving more volume than ever, but perhaps I'm simply outright mistaken.
