I have found that my A64 3700+ San Diego has a driver update.

Can I delete the CPU driver in device manager... and then execute the amd provided .exe to update it... without any format or data loss?


Is it a large undertaking or is it as simple as it sounds.

Uninstall
execute .exe
Done

Something about uninstalling my CPU while im using sounds a little... funny.

Yes, I successfully uninstalled the driver and reinstalled a dual core driver.
I believe you should not have any problems. There is a Microsoft driver to back you up in any case.
