A theoretical situation... If someone has a brain fart and should accidently forget to plug in the 6-pin power connectors to an 8800 GTX, it squeals badly as a warning to plug to in the cables. Can any damage be done to either the MOBO or the video card in that brief moment before the computer gets shuts down to plug in the cables? Remember, this never happened. I just need to know in the unlikely even this should happen
It's not that hard to forget to plug it in, especially if you have been working in the case and unplugged it to pull your graphics card out. Just make sure you turn the computer off first before you plug it in, otherwise you'll most likely fry the card.
