I will be building a new computer soon but I was wondering if I would be able to install Windows XP on new computer which is currently being run on my current computer. I have the retail verson of xp but im afraid i wont be able to run xp on my new computer because it is activated on my old one. I will stop using my current comp. once i finish building the new computer.

During activation when you call Microsoft, tell them you bought a new computer and will be erasing the hard drive on the old one. They shouldnt have a problem with this.
Just remember remove windows from your old pc to be legal.

Just had to to this. Just told them that I just installed new memory, hard drive, DVD. But it was really no big deal, just irritating you have to go through this crap.
