I'm in the middle of setting up a new rig with WIn XP PRO SP/2 with a version I Bought over the internet from OEM Software but I somehow lost the registration number key. Yes I LOST it! Is there some way to look on the disk, in the huge file and find out what they are so I can register this thing or am I sunck and have to buy this all over again?

Writing to these people is useless as they don't seem to want to write me back with any information as to my order.

Thanks in advance.

You could try explaining your predicament to Microsoft, but I doubt they'll give you a new CD key. (Might be worth a try, however.)

Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed. The key is not stored on the cd.

I almost had the same experience. The CD key was on a label on the wrapper. I had opened it just to check out the OEM manual, and my gf, thinking the wrapper was garbage, threw it away. Luckily, I caught this before the garbage-pickup day.
