Nintendo applies for voice to text software patent

Nintendo of America filed for a patent to cover voice to text chat conversion. Patent application 20060025214 was filed in July 29, 2004 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), but has only appeared on the agency's website recently. Nintendo believes that voice to text conversion could enhance online games by altering color and font size of text depending on the tone and amplitude of the speaker's voice. Read more

ATI to explain trilinear filtering in live chat today

Microsoft and Yahoo marry their instant messaging clients

Microsoft and Yahoo are testing new chat clients that let MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger users talk to each other. I know that many firewalls, routers, or different connections between computers will hinder a chat programs ability to do video conferencing. is there a program that i can use on my pc, and video chat with some program on a mac ? i like free and no ads. something that would use an msn account or aim account, also SIMPLE. ideas?

There are many free and simple video conference programs, the only think that you need to work on is setting your firewall preferences.
so that you will be able to use those software.
You can expand your selection by doing that.

Never had an issue with video on either MSN Messenger (now Windows Live Messenger) or Yahoo. I have a router and I run Panda Internet Security. Mind you, I've never tried communicating with anyone running a Mac... so maybe that's where the issue lies...
