Hi there,

have an XDA2 on o2 and I wanted my contact list to be in first name order.
I'm told by the 02 shop that I have to get some software for this.

Does anyone know what software this is and where I can get it from. Could
not find it online.

Kind regards

Has a quick look at this. Actually it is a client who requested this and she
wants it like that no matter what. The o2 shop people said it can be done
through some software which can be downloaded but I cannot find it, does
anyone know where I can find it.

Kind regards

Two answers...

If the only thing that matters is the first name sort, it will be so if
outlook is set to sort on first names... the client should be aware that
he will then not be able to use the filter box to find last nam... only
firsts... he/she will be able to use the start/find for any data.

There are also third party pim managers available... think Pocket
Informant is probably the most mentioned here.

OK thanks for this. I think some of the problems stem from the fact my
client is not using Outlook and instead Thunderbird. We are also having a
lot of problems with regard to emails being sent from the PDA and not being
put into the Sent items folder (they use IMAP email), but I will post a new
posting about this subject.

Thanks

imho, if the client is unwilling or unable to at least install outlook,
his/her ppc experience is likely to be a disaster.

>> thunderbird <<

The best (but less than perfect) approaches to this that I have
encountered is to set outlook to download email on a short interval but
leave the email on the server for thunderbird to pick up on demand...
this allows the email to be synced.

Another approach is to use two email accounts and process the email
using thunderbird and forward those to a second account that outlook
picks up for sync.
