Cast an eye over this build pls.

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Socket 775, 2.4 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Conroe Core, 4MB Cache, Retail
GPU - 768Mb Asus 8800GTX PCI-E (x16), Mem 1800 MHz, GPU 575 MHz, 128 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI-I HDTV
Heatsink/fan - Coolermaster Hyper TX Intel Heat Pipe Silent Supercooler S775
PSU - 500W CoolerMaster iGreen Power Silent SLi 85% Eff' ATX 12V V2.2 EPS12V v2.91

I already have case/hdd/paste etc etc so it is only these components I am looking for.

Is the mobo a bit of over kill if I never overclock? Any bottlenecks?

  1. You might want to invest in a bigger PSU i suggest a 650w
  2. Agreed that you should get a bigger power supply, the GTX sucks up the amps.
    Yes that MObo is overkill if not overclocking and you are never going to use 2 video cards. Save $100 and get a decent P965 based board. The RAM is also high end but not as much, depending on the price you are getting, you can save money there also.

    For a decent one. If your going to spend that kind of $ on that system, don't skimp on the PSU! 8800GTX soaks up a bunch on Amps on the 12V rail.
