His claimed "unknown" source : http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=8659 (he said this was his source even though it doesnt show a whole lot)

And here is a link to the original comments page that I found this on: http://www.xbitlabs.com/discussion/3805.html

Thoughts?

One thing I have noticed in his information is that he claims the 8600GT to be in competition with that of the X1950XTX / 7900GTX and I could be wrong, but I believe I remember someone reporting on the performance being more like a 7900GS or so. Maybe his specs are within a good ballpark range, but his performance comparisons seem to be off. Once again lets take this with a grain of salt...

Yea that is what I thought, the link is at the bottom of the page. From like I said, the comments area of a review from xbit labs. The comments was from a review of the CPU price drops not GPU's! Did you mean the 8600 GTS? I dont think he said n e thing about the 8600 Ultra, the main stuff that caught my eye was the 8800 Ultra and 8800GX2, though im not a real fan of the GX2 cards!

Don't know if you've seen this yet, but someone started a thread showing preliminary benchies of the 8600.
