Office is still better. Its supported by almost everyone. Most people have learned on office over Open Office, so they're familar.
The troubleshooting is more extensive with MS.

Depends on what you're looking to do with it though. I wouldn't recommend that many people to use it, especially in a business environment.

my only beef with Open Office is that it's basically copied straight from MS Office (yes, i know ooo grew out of SunOffice, but it behaves exactly like MS office. it's even got that goddamn annoying paperclip thinly disguised as a lightbulb).
