Ok, im getting a eVga 8800gtx for my new build. Newegg has 3 models. Is it worth it to go with the Superclocked version, or can i overclock the basic one and get the same performance?

Regular

Superclocked

As far as i can tell the only difference is core clock goes from 575 to 621 and memory clock goes from 1800 to 2000.

Can i overclock the regular to get those speeds without extra cooling?

Thanks

You should be able to overclock it to the same level yourself.

Although of course nothing is guaranteed other than the stock clocks.

yeah and i heard the next wave of the 8 series aka 8900 or something like that will be coming out within the next month or so.

So try to hold off till you're near the 90 days to step up.
