I would be buying Corsair Twin (2 x 1 GB RAM ) at 667 MHZ. (2GB) at dual channel...

also, i would be buying Asus MB with 4 slots for memory which supports 533/667/800 with a max of 8gb support.

now, is it feasible if for future use i would add another Corsair Twin (2 x 1GB) at 800 MHZ ??

in other words... i would have...

Slot 1 - 1GB 667
Slot 2 - 1GB 667

Slot 3 - 1GB 800
Slot 4 - 1GB 800

therefore i would have 4 gb ram ? both at dual channel (Slot 1 and 2) then (Slot 3 and 4) ? thanks a lot!

Yes but it would run at 667 unless you forced all of it to run at 800

force everything to 800 ? is that possible ?

Depends on your motherboard but it should be. Most 667 will run at 800 but you can't be sure and you void any warranty you have in the process.

All memory will run as fast as the slowest stick. By default the 2 new 800s will run at 667. You could force the 667 to run at 800, but you will likely have to up the voltage and loosen the timings. Not sure if the voltage can be applied on a stick by stick basis, someone with more experience will have to answer that, but I'm pretty sure that all the sticks will be running at the higher voltage the 667 needs. All the sticks will also be using the lower timings the 667 needs to run at 800. So, yes, but the 800s will be hampered a bit by the 667. I say do it anyway, the timings aren't all THAT important. You could probably get the 667 close to 800 specs anyway although I'm not familiar with that RAM.

so... would it be advisable to just add another pair of 667 than 800 ?

If they're cheaper, yes. The 800s will work, but they won't help. Now, if you later wanted to keep the 800s and get rid of the 667 for more 800s for use in future CPU upgrades... Of course, Intel is moving to DDR3 (I'm assuming that's a 775 Asus MB) next year.

You'll need a new mobo to go DDR3
