what if the r600 comes out and is ON SALE on the 23rd and is say, $50 cheaper than the 8800gtx and performs tons better? i bet you'll be kicking yourself if that happens

Time will tell. I really wish people would just wait and see what performs better because, until the product is available, there is no way to know which is the better card.

There is a way. Just bloodywell release some benchmarks. The card doesn't have to be released for us to know if it is better or not...

You are right. I decided that back in February when they announced a May release date.

I really wanted to go with ATI this time, after seeing how well the x1000 series turned out....I am just not that patient i guess. I hope it does trounce the 8800 though, at least that will cause some fierce competition. That way next gen when it's upgrade time I can have even better choices to pick from.

Just like everybody else I am eagerly awaiting Tunisia.(who could have predicted that sentence?)

ATI/AMD is a joke ! They're sounding worse than a crooked used car salesman ! No they won't have availability in May .... only another set of pictures and lame promises. Believe me by now they should have shipped their wonderful ... non-existant cards to places like good ole Tom's Hardware to test ! Why have'nt they ? THEY DON'T EXIST !!!!! If they were this close to store shelves they would be at the manufacturing site ! Wake up guys ! If ATI was still ATI we would already have them in our systems as was true in the past . Never before has ATI been so far behind. I just love these guys and there "what if's " NVIDIA is ready to release their second generation now ! And probably will before ATI/AMD can make yet another lying promise . Intel is probably laughing their butts off ... they'll only have one other company to compete with in video card sales and they'll probably be out before ATI ..... lol :lol: Oh and by the way the only sparks jumping are probably over at the AMD lab !!

I really want this to release. I want to base my next system around whatever graphics card I get. I've been holding off but geez I just really wish there was something to go on. I think my only real choice would be to wait.
