I have gainward 7900gs with 256mb, should i change it fot 8600gts when they arrive? Is 128 bit memory bus to small for 1280x1024 resolutions? Did someone heard something about that? thanks

i think it will be better for u to go for 8xxx ... or may be if u can wait a lil longer, see wat ATI comes up with (r600 that is)

The 8600 GTS will likely handle 1280x1024 with ease, even though it's got a 128-bit memory interface it's rumored to have 1 Ghz (2Ghz effective) GDDR3 memory.

Having said that, It's probably not much faster than a 7900 GS. I don't think it'd be a smart upgrade, but wait & see.

Best idea is to buy an 8800 GTS 320 for 270$~.
8600 GTS would be around 250$ when it comes out in 2 weeks.
