Ok I read over the faq about dual-channeling, but I don't know for sure if i can dual channel two different manu. ram's together with maybe different timing though they are both ddr2 800 240pin

heh... trying to be cheap because i already bought the g.skill

and also with the timing... is it necessarily lower timings equate to faster ram?

i.e. 4-4-4-12 > 5-5-5-15? 3-3-3-5 > 4-4-4-12?

because i noticed it costs more n stuff.

The problem is the voltage. One memory is 2.0-2.1 and the other is 1.8.
You should increase the voltage to 2.0 and use the slowest timings. When you have different timings, the computer will use the slowest of the two.
It is okay to mix different memory modules on different channels. You can try both on the same channel.

lol damn.. out of all computer hardware, ram's the only thing I really know nothing about..... I might as well just buy another same exact stick just to be safe eh..

thanks for the help though
