I currently own an
EVGA 640-P2-N825-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SUPERCLOCKED HDCP Video Card - Retail
ttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130080

I bought this card because i believed it would be topped binned for a GTS, however i have no idea how to OC a GPU, ive read the CPU stickies, as well as the ATI OCing sticky, however that has nothing to do with my current question.

There is no sticky for OCing Nvidia 8800, and thats ok, im relying on the fine folks at THG fourmz to help me.

Now i am sure that this has been diccuessed in the fourmz before but please dont be too mean.

This had should been top shelf per GTS. How high can it OC and how high should i OC it before i need after market cooling, and is GPU after market a worthwhile venture.

Any other thoughts are appreciated.

Thx

The 8800GTS is a very fast card, and I don't see any need to OC a card like that yet, unless you game at over 1900x1200, however if you want to you can download nTUNE from Nvidia and overclock through it.

an 8800GTS should be good for something like 600mhz maybe 630mhz.
