I have a new Sony KDF-60XS955 TV. It has a CableCard slot and an internal
tuner and should work with a CableCard from the local cable company.
Yesterday and today, I've been dealing with Time Warner cable guys and
people back at their headquarters, trying to get their CableCard to work, to
no avail. After we put it in and initialize it, so that it finds channels
(it finds several hundred analog and several hundred digital channels), we
can then go to the channels and the TV's "info bar" identifies them but,
with the digital channels, gives us "No Signal". Black screen. It does
pull down digitized analog channels.
They have tried a couple of cable cards and various things back at
headquarters, sending signals down the line to the card, but nothing makes a
difference. Channels we subscribe to, such as HBOHD, the HD tier, and, in
fact, most of the digital channels (but not the digitized analog channels)
are inaccessible. No signal.
Time-Warner has tried everything they know to do and are now officially
clueless. Of course, they now want to blame it on my TV, but since it is a
brand new 2005 model Sony, I am not quick to accept that the problem is on
my end, particularly since it is very apparent that they do not know what
they are doing.
If anyone has any experience with CableCard and, therefore, any suggestions,
I would welcome them.

Happy to report my CableCard is now up and running, after a couple days
hassling with Time Warner. I'll post about it in a separate message.
