I am using 2 GB ram with vista x64,(Getting 1GB more tomorrow) i will have 4GB ? My question is should i get 4GB ? My ram is at like 35% idle use. I just want to know if 4GB will be faster or not, or just increase my application handles. I do lot of video compression and gaming.

2+1=3 more memory means more for vista to cache apps in, so more will mean faster app loading and such. But once open probably less benefit.

Unless you went with the 64 bit version of Vista 3 GB is probably near your max anyhow....

I don't think you will see much benefit right now from going from 3 to 4 GB. So I'd say save your pennies for a bit longer and go for a bigger upgrade later (like a quad-core)
