cpu dual core usage, should they be equal?

the above is a link to my task manager open while running nwn2sever and a few other apps, ive heard thers a hotfix for xp for proper dual core performance, do i need this, i often see the system running near 50 percent but the first processor is doing like 90 percent of the work, is that correct?

That's the way it should be. Only if you where running nothing but multi threaded applications would you see both cores at or near the same usage level.

Yeah, the only time i see identical usage on both cores, is if they're both idle @ the desktop(0%), or both maxed to 100% ...running Prime x 2.
