I'm in the process of building my 1st computer from scratch from newegg.com and my kink was this:

I'm looking at this motherboard

-BIOSTAR TFORCE 550 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP ATX AMD Motherboard-

and this SAPPHIRE 100199L Radeon X1950GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP video card.

So my main problem (I think) is that the mother board comes with NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP and I was wondering if they (the video card and the nForce) would have issues working together since nForce is not ATI?

I'm not a very familiar with computer terms, so if your answers could be explained with simplicity in mind, i'd very much appreciate it :)

You shouldn't have any problems. It doesn't matter who makes the chipset on the motherboard, it will still work with a videocard from any company. In fact, Tom's Hardware did an article on that not too long ago.

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/04/04/does_chipset_to_gpu_matching_matter/

Basically, if you read that, it tells you what I just said. It doesn't matter at all.

Enjoy your new computer.
