First, I'd recommend dumping Norton Antivirus. It's been going downhill since...well, since Symantec bought it. There are much better antivirus programs out there, some of which are FREE! I recommend the free version of AVG. It's never failed me. For spyware, you can also try either Adaware or Windows Defender.
Anyway, these are the lines in HijackThis that look troubling:
So run HijackThis and tell it to fix those lines. Then search for the files associated with those lines (ntio.exe, rundl132.exe, winsrvs_1.dll, msbb.exe, and start.exe) and get rid of them. Reboot and run HijackThis again and see if any of those lines reappear. If you have trouble deleting any of the files, reboot into safe mode and try again.
Thanks Smeghead, I managed to erase all of the aformentioned files using a combination of hijackthis and Killbox - some didn't come up when searched for!!
It seems like the problem has been solved - if you have time, please read the new hijack log and let me know if I'm clean.
