Hello

I have dual 2.8ghz Xeon processors that are installed on my IBM 335 82x 8676 machine. Anyways I am looking to buy the IBM 335 61x motherboard because it has the Backplane for my SCSI drives and I guess the 82x doesn't support it.

The FSB on my 82x is 533mhz

The FSB on the 61x is 400mhz

Is it possible to still use the current processors I have in the 400mhz fsb?

Thanks,
Jason

yes they will work, assuming socket formats match.

Your cpus will clock down to match the 400 mhz fsb, ie only 75% of the rated speed. - ie, in your case, 2.1 ghz.
