My dvd player is connected via component video. When the dvd player is on
and I turn the t.v. to the cable input, I get a blue screen with
"progressive mode selected". This prevents me from being able to use the
split screen to see the dvd and t.v. If I turn OFF progressive mode on the
DVD player, then I CAN get the split screen. Is there any way around this?

Depending upon your DTV you might get better results in 480i mode and let
the set perform the 2:3 conversion on film DVD, and other conversion
functions.

My TV is the same way. I cannot use the split screen mode when using the
component video input for 480p or 1080i. No way to do it.
