Ok im running an ATI AIW800xl , I got it for free from afreind a year ago when I built my system. Ive been using it stritly as a video card and havent used any of its tuner or capture features. I only have the distplay driver and wdm drivers installed i didnt install Catylyst control center or Multi Media Center for the simple reason that I really dontlike ATIs software and i really had no need for it before now. I use ATI Tray Tool instead of CCC. Now i would like to record video from my digital cable box as well as my VCR. Both of which have s-video, component or composite outputs. The AIW i belive has s-vide and composite video inputs. Also how would I record sound to go with the video? I have a Creative Xfi, would I somehow have to connect the AIW to the Xfi?? Also is there any software I can use in place of ATIs multi media control center?? Something a bit less bloated, i dont need all those features, just a simple way to capture video/sound from the AIW videio inputs. Please help im a newbie when it comes to video capture.
Thanks
