I followed the backup directions in Activesync and saved the Total Backup to
my desktop.
How do I restore now that I have updated ROM?
I tried following the restore process and I got nowhere. =(

Reinstall. Otherwise you could cause issues for yourself with registry
entries, storage card names, etc. and have some unexpected behaviors.
About the only safe way to do a restore after an upgrade is if you are VERY
selective about what you back up.

That's the thing you should ask before a major change like a ROM update, not
after. You should reinstall your programs then copy your document files and
resynch Outlook. A restore may not work- it's to a different OS.
