am thinkin about gettin a athlon X2 6000+ coz of the recent price crash (£150 on ebuyer) and have read that they are a bit power hungry CPU's, and was hopin for sum advice on wether my system wil take it.
av got:
Thermaltake TR2 500W PSU
XFX 8800GTS 320mb Extreme Edition
Asus M2N-E Mobo
and do u think al need a bios update, i did try to look on asus's website but as usual its was pi**ing me off coz its to slow.
av had no problems so far with it and have overclocked my 88 and 3800+ to 3GHz and had no problems, but its an excuse to get a nice Hyper PSU i spose!!!
I would suggest going with a 650-700watt psu, just about all of which will have enough amps on the 12volt rails to run your system and then some.Always go for more than you need, that way you know you have enough to do the job right.Goodluck.

if i wer to buy 1 of these http://www.thermaltake.com/product [...] /w0099.asp it wud take the strain my 8800gts puts on my psu off, rite??? its a 250W graphics card psu. u can pick em up for about £25 (which is cheaper than a £70 psu)
Yeah, that would probably take care of things, but keep in mind that Thermaltake isn't exactly the best PSU company. There are worse ones out there and you might never experience any problems with your system, but if you like to play on the safe side, you'd be better off dropping $100-150 on something better (SeaSonic, Corsair, Silverstone, PC Power & Cooling, certain Antec models).
