am not sure where to look if my psu has the required Amps on the rails so here's the product spec http://www.thermaltake.com/product [...] 009394.asp

av had no problems so far with it and have overclocked my 88 and 3800+ to 3GHz and had no problems, but its an excuse to get a nice Hyper PSU i spose!!!

thanks so far

as a general rule, the higher the amps you have on a 12v+ rail the better

right now you probably want anywhere from 30+

in the near future i wouldnt be surprised if systems require 32 at a minimum

freaking power hogs

the 6000+ is know to be hot which means it uses alot of juice and your psu is most likely too small - its is border line

Listen to mpilch, he knows his stuff. I ended up with a 520W Corsair and I couldn't be happier. I believe it provides 40 amps across three 12V rails.

I would suggest going with a 650-700watt psu, just about all of which will have enough amps on the 12volt rails to run your system and then some.Always go for more than you need, that way you know you have enough to do the job right.Goodluck.

it wud take the strain my 8800gts puts on my psu off, rite??? its a 250W graphics card psu. u can pick em up for about £25 (which is cheaper than a £70 psu)

thanks

Yeah, that would probably take care of things, but keep in mind that Thermaltake isn't exactly the best PSU company. There are worse ones out there and you might never experience any problems with your system, but if you like to play on the safe side, you'd be better off dropping $100-150 on something better (SeaSonic, Corsair, Silverstone, PC Power & Cooling, certain Antec models).

dude if had that kind of money to spend on a psu u think i'd have a 8800gts?
