For some reason this E4300 will not return to a 266 mhz FSB. What happened was that a game locked up (STALKER on max settings) and I manually turned off the PC. I rebooted it and it went to 200. Then I rebooted again and took it back to 266. Now it fails to post.

At first I forgot about setting the PCIe port to 100, but now thats done and I still do not get a post. It just shuts off whenever I exit BIOS.

Anyone else with this problem? Or know how to fix it?

check you voltage settings for the mem, cpu, and also check the multipliers for the mem

when my bios resets itself due to a bad boot, i have to reset the mem multiplier, it defaults to auto or 4.0

then when i exit the bios, the system completly shuts down and 5 seconds later restarts on is own

Thats exactly what happened to me. I reloaded the default settings entirely and then did a complete re-setup. Now its back to 266 and running stably enough. Thanks all.
