Can anybody give me a short and concise answer about graphics cards models - what the heck do those suffixes such as GS, GT, GTS, GTX etc mean?

Is there some order of increasing performance?

Is there a website that lists all of them and explains the difference?

Thx!

Well, in modern graphics cards there are two ways to tell how well a card will perform. The first is the second digit. Meaning a 7600 will be more powerfull than a 7300.

The other is the suffix at the end. GS is the least powerfull. It almost always has disabled pipelines. GT is the one that is right about the GS. It sometimes has disabled pipelines. GTS is the new GT, or one higher than the GT in the case of the 8600's. GTX is the highest of all, except maybe the Ultra wich may come in the form of the 8800 Ultra. The way in wich each suffix claims to be more powerfull is with higher clocks and more pipelines.

So a 7600 GT will be more powerfull than ta 7600 GS.
A 7900 GS will be more powerfull than a 7600 GT, and so on.
