My Sempron 2800 Win XP rig keeps cyling thru POST and wont boot into XP. Its virus and adware free and is onta dsl connection. Norton hasnt found any disk problems but did file some bad indexes on my root drive. Anyone ever seen a PC keep cylcling thru POST over and over to know what causes this and how to fix it? Is this a hardware or software problem? I've checked the BIOS settings and they are all where they should be. All parts are 4 months old.

Did you try installing another copy of Windows? See if that works and then reply with the outcome.

how far do you get before it cycles? not even past the post screen? do you get to the xp boot screen?

update your bios and restore all the settings to default and see what happens
