the crysis fps looks really good from ati, remember the 2900xt isnt the top from ati but 2900xtx is
cant wait and see how it performs..
One benchy doesnt prove a winner, but is SHOULD prove the 2900xt will at least trade blows with the 8800gtx... which is really to be expected.
Noice!
i know but i think crysis is the most wanted game so far.
it looks bright for ati
cant wait for more games to be benched
actually I read an article that said the 2000 series is dropping the 'X' ending, so there will be no XTX, the XT will be the highest. I believe thats waht I read, don't take that as fact tho unless someone else can confirm this...
The 2900 looks like itll soar like an eagle!! Tho that site looked like a turkey

Read in the link from the other r600 bench thread that the xtx will be released in June. Of course everything is still just speculation I guess.
its not true what u have read, the xtx has 1gb GDDR4 and will score 2k higher than the xt version.. its gonna come in june i believe so
yea haha
Anyone speak turkish in here ?
Nice, ATI just kept teasing us with their benchies. I just hope the pricing is better than that of G80.
I think my auto-translator needs some stuffing for that turkey to be gravy
I think the "X" they dropped was the prefix - as in X8--,X18-- series which makes sense as the "X" was a roman numeral for 10. Probably better than eventually having to deal with an XVIII800 series.
Looks good, but we dont know if these benchies are true. If its real, second best 2900 slightly better than the best 8800GTX shows promise, at least in one mega-game
i think the price should be $400 so thats nice if its true
word no more x2900xtx OR x2900xt just 2900...and I cant wait
yea thats right but we just gotta wait :b there will probably be more benchies these days
yea thats nice and for $400
yea :? translators cant always translate the words correctly
the price is 400 pounds

[edit] or dollars
Guys they dropped the X preffix for HD hello, did anyone read the article??? On the side thought, if is 400 bucks i can't wait
| Quote : i think the price should be $400 so thats nice if its true |
That's for the XT right?
thats hard to say but i believe so.. but the price wont be as high as nvidia thats for sure.
ive heard the price should be the cheapest since the 9800pro
If the XT is actually the highest model, these are pretty disappointing benchmark results... since it seems the 8800GTX is offering roughly the same performance. If, however, this is closer in pricing to the 8800GTS models things are looking up for AMD/ATI.

As I understand, this 512MB XT will be the fastest one for the launch, beating 8800GTX by ~10% or so and with GTS price. In a month or two more will be released faster 2900XT to compete with 8800 Ultra/8900, since nVidia isnt sleeping as well
I think the XTX is the higher for the R600.
Can't remember where I read it but i've seen a Crysis benchmark with 2 8800GTX's in SLI before and they came around 40 FPS in highest settings. Dont't think these benchmarks are real.
Yes I did it,
This was my first post on TH
40 fps with sli =P .. it will be very hard 2 sell a game if not even the best graphic cards can play it but we just have 2 wait and see what will happen :b
congratulations with ur first post =P lol
congrats! may these forums fill you with knowledge and solutions
so crysis = next gen oblivion eh?
sounds good :!:
what i want to know is will there be any significant performance boosts when newer drivers come out.
i mean nvidia have had months to tweak their drivers so do you think these drivers being used are a bit rough and ready or do you think ATI have been working on themn for a while given that by all accounts the R600 is a finished product?
well some of the other news said that in need for speed 8800gtx and R600XT was almost the same but when the new drivers from ati came it beat the gtx with 17%
no idea.. the problem is it doesnt say if its XP or VISTA neither does it say if its dx10 or dx9 but i believe ATI have worked on em some time now and they can only get better in the future
but these days r gonna be intense
Those amazing Turks, they not only have the early benches on R600 but they also are able to run it with Crysis. It may have been more believable if they had used currently available software.
Don't mind me if i take this with a little skepticism.
It loses breath on higher resolutions.
Large LCD and CRT realms will still be reigned by nVidia.
even though these are fake, it still showed ATI winning so how do you come to that conclusion?
you really are a noob of the highest order aren't you.

And going by the Crysis benchie alone, the 8800GTX didn't lose steam?
He is seeing the gap narrow and assumes by the time they hit 2560x1600, the 8800GTX would be ahead. He fails to realize 6 fps vs 5 fps isn't much of a victory.
I agree with ya, these benchies even if real, are far from being accurate as how these cards will play the final release version of crysis with the then current optimized drivers.
not the x at teh end, the x at the start, eg radeon x2900xt becomes radeon HD 2900xt
Funny to read these post when i think no one here even has a 8800GTX.Retards
i'd edit that post quikly, not wise to call ppl retards...... although the t key is close ot the g key....

First off, you don't have to own the card to know how it performs...
Second, if you look at no1sfanboy's sig it clearly states he is running a 8800gtx.... Thanks anyway tho....
what does owning a 8800 have to do with predicting how a 2900 will perform?
I remember that too, only it either came out as being fake or the reason it performed so badly was shitty drivers. I can believe both.
oh boy do i smell a swindle, when ATI hits the 7xxx & 9xxx numbers again. I can see cheaters dropping in a 9800XT for a HD (x)9800XT. I guess ATI/AMD are betting that by the time they hit the 9xxx numbers, the old cards would no longer exist anywhere except for museums.
Speaking of number schemes, Whats nvidia gonna do? They are at the 8xxx series now, after the 9xxx series are they really gonna do a 10xxx?

By the time they make it back to the 9xxx series agp will be completely dead. Sure you might get some jerk on ebay trying to sell an old one for the new price, but buying something over the internet like that from a private seller has it's risks.
As for nvidia, I suppose we will find out in a few years...

The real question is: was the benchmark ran in Dx10 path or in Dx9?
If it was Dx10 (which I doubt), it might prove what I've been expecting for a while... That NVidia 8800GTX doesn't perform as expected in Dx10. That would be really bad for NVidia and all 8800 owners. Not that I wish it mind you!
We'll all know by the end of april I guess.
P.S.: Patience, in this case, was a virtue... talking about rushing for the 8800 series.
this is awesome, i cant wait

Actualy they are dropping the "X" from the prefix, that is the front X Ilke in X1950, they changed it from X to HD. so they are not X2900XT but HD2900XT
If the XT is the highest, then that is pitiful in my opinion. Even if pricing is lower, with this much time after the G80 release R600 should murder it.
Hey guys correct me if I'm wrong. But that price was 399.00 in pounds.
If so we are gonna be hit hard with the price.
I just picked up a money order for $17 pounds.....Cost me $46 dollars canadian.Five dollars of that was for the money order itself.Still going by that reasoning it will be double that. Can any one say $800.00.
Lord I hope i'm wrong.

you're wrong
the X they're dropping is the FIRST..
IE.. X2900XT -> HD 2900XT
the first X for the 12900 will be changed to "HD" as for "high definition"
the XTX will for sure be out after ATI knows what the 8900 ultra will do..
anyway the current ATI topend card will be the "UFO" version with GDDR3... (hd2900XT)
| Quote : Hey guys correct me if I'm wrong. But that price was 399.00 in pounds.

actually the guys of overclockers.uk "confirmed" that the price of the 2900XT will be 399 US, aka, the same price of the retail 8800GTS non OC versions...
Nope, it said 400 Dollars or Euros.
Thats about 200 pounds if it is dollar or 271 pounds if it is euro. Personnally I hope it's in dollars.

hey .. you there ... ati's highest model is x2900xtx because it has 1024 mb memory ... the x2900xt has ''only'' 512
its been said that ATI's highend is $100 to $150 cheaper
