I just got a new computer, but my internet connection is really slow. I have ADSL, but for some reason, I'll be playing a game online, and my ping will go up to like 2500, which is crazy. I have no idea why this happens. This is so frustrating, and there is no reason why this should be happening. None of the other computers have this problem, but it can't be my controller because I have a VPN at my house, and I installed the PCI adapter on my computer and i still had the same problem. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

Are you on AOL? If so, this could be the problem....lol....

Most online games (especially fast-action ones like Counterstrike and Call of Duty) have internal settings which dictate how much information the game will try and send to the game server. In Counterstrike, for example, there is an CFG file where you can change the "cmdrate" or Command Rate. If you have this set too high or too low it can cause lag even on a fast connection.

Tell me what games you're having trouble with and I'll let you know if I can help with specifics.

Fatal Error #449: Unable to process the "Go to Hell" command specified.
