You should contact the MB manufacturer and ask if your board supports C2D. Some earlier revisions of the 945G chipset did not support C2D because of voltage requirements. Generally, the later revision 2 945G boards did support C2D. I don't know about your specific board. HTH.

I use an 805-D in my 945G and face the reality. It will never grow up and be a C2D. OP could do what I did for my micro C2D build. Get the 965Q option.

You can replace the mobo with another intel chip set that is close and most likely the hard drive will boot up.

If you do this, first uninstall every item that needs drivers, do the video last you get a black screen.

The after you swap the mobo with your C2D chip, boot up and istall the drivers.

I have done this a number of times.
