my DHCP server release date for gateway is too short?

Why does the DHCP server lease is so short? I checked it by using ipconfig/all and it shows the release date to be 1 day after it was given. I tried to renew it using dos command but it failed to work. I had to reboot the PC. It never happen like this before. the DHCP server release date usually last much longer in terms of months. why does it happen so quickly?

Is there something wrong with my PC adapter card?

what's your dhcp server? an actual server or a router or something?
there's gotta be an option where you can configure the lease time expiration limit

this is the router. Ok. I can change the lease time. I forgot about it.

yeah increase it, i know some routers (dlink in particular) had issues when the dhcp lease would expire, it wouldn't be able to obtain the next lease and would lose contact with the gateway

so put it as high as you can or just go static
