im try to upgrade my video card to a little better than what i have now. i want to make sure that it is safe on my computer. i also want it to be able to run call of duty 2 . the wattage is 250w. here is the specs on my computers.

didn't think i would ever say this but i would think it might be cpu bottleneck. true get a high 9 series card from ATI would allow you to play games to the max of your system abilites but that cpu probably will hold you back in a new title such as that.
well, build one yes, whilst i would usually recommend upgrading comps as much as possible, i do not think pre-built comps should be as they are usally outdated when they are released and use proprietary pieces of hardware which are not always compatable.
if you are on a strict budget then trying to get everything you can out of your current one is a good idea.
Well other then a new video card you will want to get another 512 mb of RAM.
Check your motherboard's manual (or the manufacturer's Web site) to see how much RAM it accepts. I hope you've got a decent motherboard that takes more than 512 MB. 1 GB will show a big improvement compared to 512 MB, in games as well as other programs.
