These results are not what I expected after setting up my 4 drive RAID 0 array:

It seems that I am only getting the performance of two drives.

The array consists of 4 250GB Western Digital Raid Edition drives... Here is a test I ran on a single drive:

Any ideas?

Okay.. so I found another program, DiskBench and ran some more tests. This time I got the results I was looking for:

Except the results are actually HIGHER than I thought possible. I was peeking at nearly 300MBps... but the average speed for a single drive is more like 55MBps. So I would have expected around 200MBps to 240MBps tops for a 4 drive array. But the test results seem to imply that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts!

So..
which results should I trust? Are there more reliable programs I should be trying out?

So I found another program... HD Tach. It seems to have a good reputation...

The results from this bench lies between the last two results (HD Tune and DiskBench)

I don't know what to believe...

I used the HD Tach as well.

Here's my 2x74Gb Raptors 10K rpm @ raid0 16k stripping size using Nvidia Raid onboard GA-8N SLi Royal.

and my regular 300Gb 7200rpm Wester Digital Caviar SE used for storage on the same system.
