Games crashing.

Hi there,

I have this terrible problem with my system ever since i did a re-install of windows now everytime i try to run a game the game loads and i can play it for about 5 sometimes 10 minutes then the .exe of the games crash. and its with all games that i try no matter what.

The games I use most are CNC3, HL2 (CS:S, DOD:S etc), BF2 which are all reasonably GFX dependant.

I have tried re-installing the drivers for the GFX card, and DirectX, but that doesnt seem to have done anything. the only ray of hope I had was with forcing the dexlevel command with DOD:S to -dxlevel 8 which worked ok but it was not performing as well as it used to.

My system is as follows:

ASUS A8V Deluxe
AMD 3500+ Venice
Corsair Twinx XMS 2x512 3200Pro
WD Raptor 74Gig
BFG 7800 GS OC 256MB AGP
Enermax 485 Noisetaker PSU

It used to work fine and nothing else with the system has changed. any help would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, when you reinstalled your drivers, did you use driver cleaner?

seems that this is happening with 3d apps which require more power I'm to the conclusion that your psu is failing try a better power source.

make sure you reinstall all your chipset drivers, this is one thing people tend to forget, yet it is vital.

His psu is pumping over 30 amps to 12 volt rail, unless his psu is crapping out, that isnt the problem. He said it started after a driver change, he wasnt having the problem before.

only 18 amps 2 rails it's 36 enermax makes a good psu, never really knows
when a psu may fail. I agree it may be bad conflicts with drivers or it may be psu who knows at this point.
